We are a small credit union dedicated to meeting our members needs, knowing our members names and maintaining a strong financial position to protect our members savings. Our credit union began in 1956 serving the employees of the Connecticut Natural Gas Corporation. Prior to our current brick and mortar location in East Hartford, we resided on Columbus Boulevard in Hartford. When CNG moved to East Hartford, we moved to remain close to our members. Of course, today, with TellerTalk and Home Banking we are convenient to all our members. This is just one of the ways we strive to meet our members needs. Our wide array of products and services are provided to give our members the best possible service at the minimum of cost.

We are a hardworking staff of three full-time employees and a large group of dedicated volunteers. As a member of CNG Federal Credit Union, it won’t be long before our staff learns your name, identifies your voice on the phone, and has your account on their computer terminal by the time you finish saying hello. We like being small, and efficient.  We like being friendly, but knowledgeable.  We like serving our members as if they are our friends, because they are!

Financially we maintain a very strong capital position, which is the best indicator of a financial institution’s safety and soundness. The money in the credit union is our members money and we treat it as if it was our own (and it is, as all the employees and volunteers are members!). In addition, we are Federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency.
